On Site Development
Lavenderbuddy is available to use within within St Helens Library inside The Words of Glass Museum
for extra support within this setting especially for Neurodivergent support and we see a Staff member including him in World Autism day at the Library
All Spaces should be inclusive and support all the children that visit and St Helens main Library adding this addition has been a wonderful addition for the children to know that they can access when and if needed
Children with Sight impairments have a higher load
on their nervous system due to their Visual Impairment or Vision Loss.
Lavenderbuddy offers Equitable access to support
this with his Tactile respnsive features and auditory sound when opening the Bear.
Using smell to recognise the difference between Lavenderbuddy and other plush toys is an added support
Lavenderbuddy was at The Christmas Fair in
The Royal School for The Blind in Liverpool and Staff, Parents and Children got to meet him.
He is now a valuable Tool when supporting Children with Visual Impairments / Vision loss within the
Setting
A lot of Children do not like being inside unfamiliar buildings that can lower their capacity and raise overwhelm.
We agree that being outside when the weather is
lovely helps all of us.
Lavenderbuddy likes to surprise the Children in
Parks and Local Community events with a
Story and a HUG and children are always
curious about this Bear and get to experience all of his features
