Introduce Lavenderbuddy in 6 steps this way or your way

1.

With a cheeky pop of his head out the backpack, Lavenderbuddy is  ready to invite little explorers to dive into his soft, variable textures, visually unique design and the relaxing scent of lavender flowers for proven relaxing affects from the nose to the brain, to the body in one sniff.

That's it for a week or two for the Brain, Nervous and Sensory system to enjoy this new experience of sensory feedback that feels SAFE, which then sets the tone for a place to come back to further down the journey.

Let them lead with Play, their way

2.

Next, encourage your child to take their time, stroking the fabric like they're petting a tiny puppy then finding those embroidered breath focus points with their eyes closed and their tiny fingers finding the surprise shift in texture.

Especially important for differentiation.

Breathe in and out as usual

Together, you can confidently name colors, count, and have a blast opening and closing the Velcro on his tummy, all while brainstorming what other treasures could fit inside, snacks, anyone?

3.

Talk to Lavenderbuddy, Hug him, Do some big breaths in and out then smell.

Declare loudly, " oh I feel so good, I love this little bear"

Mirror everything you want them to do.

The fact you are enjoying their new Bear is a surprise and will have their

brain tickled with joy when you are dancing round with him and taking him for a pretend nap

on the sofa

4.

Use to place near them when Big Feelings overwhelm them.

Say Nothing

Let them see you hug him

They will want a piece of the action like they do with your food and space

Say nothing.

Move in for connection.

Repeat, repeat, repeat this step.

This is the Foundation starting for Safety

5.

When ready, introduce a Breath in, another short one on top of this and a longer one out.

Start breath in on one circle and out and move down 2 and practice for 3, 4 or even 5 circles depending on age instead of counting.

Using the brain disrupts the flow. Fingers are best.

This type of breath is a physiological sigh to activate the parasympathetic rest and digest.

activating vagus nerve activity, dropping cortisol and flushes excess Co2 from the gulps they took in overwhelm

The Vagus Nerve is the main nerve that exits behind the ear and down to every organ.

We call him Gus

6.

With consistent daily use through play and practicing breath, alongside all the other sensory feedback, combining a bundle of messages to say- " Safety " to the Sensory / Nervous system and the Brain.

New Neuro Pathways form this way.

This offers comfort every time without trying to build capacity or become resilient.

That follows when the Body and Brain feels safe naturally

Sleep arrives gently because the body FEELS SAFE.

This may take some transition from you to be in their own bed

this is where the Scaffolding is built as the Foundation is set.
